Testing

You will need to achieve a passing score of 220 on the required Indiana content assessments and Developmental (Pedagogy) Assessments for your specific grade level.

Choose from our wide selection of Elementary, Secondary, All Level (P-12), Special Education, and Career and Technical Education areas.

Our Program Advisors will play an important role in helping you select the subject area(s) that complement your skills and interests, and give you the best chance to get hired.

We provide access to free study guides, assessment blueprints, test familiarization videos, sample questions and webinars/tutorials.

We are actively creating a new free online forum in which teachers can share their study tips and test feedback.

Training

Our comprehensive online teacher training is available 24/7 to fit your schedule. The innovative coursework integrates our research-based pedagogy with high-engagement learning.

Educational leaders provide the foundation of our curriculum, which is continually updated to provide the most relevant and effective classroom preparation.

More than 100 hours of Classroom Readiness Training is offered in our self-paced, online format, so that you can train to be a teacher while keeping your current job.

The training includes field based experiences, classroom observations, and interactive projects to prepare you for the classroom.

Your training continues throughout your first year of teaching with our Excellence in Teaching and Learning coursework.

During the internship year, you will lead your own classroom as a full time teacher. Your Field Supervisor and Building Level Administrator are there to help you.

Your Indiana Teachers Field Supervisor will visit and observe your classroom up to three times throughout the year. They are also available via phone and email to offer continuous guidance and support.

Your Building Level Administrator is usually the Principal of your school, who will help you navigate on-campus issues. Both the Field Supervisor and Building Level Administrator will each make a licensure recommendation regarding your performance in the classroom.
